The game is played on a 29 x 8 grid. The battlefield is located in a 15 x 6 zone, where we can find hills, in dark squares, and plains, in light squares.

It's not possible to play against computer on this version. You can only move the pawns on it.
The guetteurs must reach the other camp. The game is won when all the 4 guetteur enter the opponent's camp.
(to be translated) Vous êtes le souverain d'un pays prospère et enchanté. Mais le roi d'une contré voisine vous déclare la guerre. En ces temps épiques la guerre se faisait loyalement, sur un champ de bataille bien délimité, et à armes égales.
Vous disposez donc de 4 bataillons de soldats, armés de lourdes hallebardes et de cottes de mailles mais rapides malgré tout, de 2 bataillons d'archers, corps d'armée solidaire habitué aux terrains accidentés mais pas aux grandes manoeuvres, et enfin de 4 troupes de guetteurs, à mi-chemin entre des espions et des guerriers, qui sont très résistants, mais ne peuvent se permettre de rester à découvert sur les collines ou de se battre en batailles rangées.
Each turn a player can play 2 out of the 3 types of pawns. Each pawn of the 2 types can move or attack in the allowed directions.
The first turn only, players place 6 of their pawns on the 1st line of the battlefield.
Soldats can move 3 squares in any direction (colums, rows or diagonales). The only exception is for reaching a hill, which takes 2 moves instead of one, but for moving on a hill or going back to plains, it takes 1 normal move.
Archers can move 2 squares in straight line (colums or rows), or 1 move in diagonale, without any limitation in regard to the hills or the plains.
Guetteurs can move 2 cases on any directions, on plains only.
If a soldat or a archer is hit, it is definitely removed. If a guetteur is wounded, it has to come back to one of the 4 squares of the beginning, at their camp.
Soldats can go on the square of archers or other soldats, they replace them and the pawns are removed from the game. Soldats can block guetteurs by being on their way, but they can only wound them if they are 2 against 1 (if one soldat or archer is already on a square next to the target one).
Archers can kill soldats or other archer, and wound guetteurs. An archer can shoot, once a turn during allowed moves and instead of moving, on 2 squares range on straight lines and 1 square range on diagonals (same ranges as moving). They can only shoot from the dark squares.
Guetteurs can't kill or wound anyone. They can move on plains only.
